SDGE Land Access Info

September 2026

Behind closed doors, SDG&E is currently negotiating to access 40,000 acres of vital backcountry land owned by Vista Irrigation District.

This massive piece of land is situated right between Palomar Mountain and Warner Springs. This info was uncovered directly from the Vista Irrigation District public agenda this week, raising critical questions for our mountain community and local watershed protection.

Currently, the Vista Irrigation District (VID) uses the 43,000-acre Warner Ranch and Lake Henshaw watershed to supply affordable, local water to North County. This is roughly 135,000 people.

  • What will happen to the water quality, once there are herbicides spread to maintain the right-of-way to the future massive towers?
